About

My practice, Architect Hewson is an office based in the Inner North of Melbourne.
We take a small, holistic approach to design focusing the practice in both residential and interiors.
Architect Hewson can provide innovative solutions through extensive investigation and analysis of the client’s brief, site and
context.
Since 2010, I have projects projects within a broad range of councils across the Melbourne Metropolitian area, regional
Victoria, New South Wales and ACT.
Almost all of my projects are alterations and addition to residential homes from all eras, with a special focus
on inner city Edwardian and early modernist homes.
From 2012, I have been a tutor at both University of Melbourne (Design/Construction
Technology/Professional Practice) and RMIT University in History – Australian Architecture at RMIT
University.
My thesis presented at RMIT was on the history of architect-designed project homes in Sydney and
Melbourne, and specifically the history and post occupancy of the Demonstration Village in French’s Forest
NSW, by ‘Sunline’ Homes, the precursor of Petitt & Sevitt company.
I am also collector of mid-century furniture and objects.
